Mark Wahlberg Explains the Logic Behind Those Notorious 4am Workouts

Mark Wahlberg went viral in 2018 after he shared his daily routine on social media, a packed schedule which includes a 2:30am wakeup call and two workouts, the first of which he starts at 4 in the morning. Since then, Wahlberg has kept his '4 a.m. club' going, encouraging his followers to start their day strong.

But, as Wahlberg explains to Team MH, 4am is more a state of mind than a literal appointment time: the important thing is to ensure you're showing up and making the time to stick to your goals every day.

'I am known for getting up at 4am,' he says, explaining that it doesn't matter 'whether your 4am is actually at 4am, or it's 8am or it's 4pm.'

'Sometimes I work nights, I'm on a night schedule,' he continues. 'I just get eight hours of sleep, I get up and I make sure that I do all the things that I need to do for myself to be the best version of myself before I've got to wake the kids up.'

'I'm not an evening person,' he adds. 'I used to be, but for me there's nothing but trouble after those hours, so I like to get up and get it done.'
